Summer is here, and with it comes the promise of road trips, beach days, and time spent with loved ones. As the weather warms up and we take to the open roads of Portland, OR, there are a few safety tips that are worth considering:
- Always wear your seatbelt. This can be an uncomfortable reminder if you're driving with a friend or family member who doesn't always wear theirs, but it's an important one, nonetheless.
- If you're going on a long trip or taking many turns at high speeds, it's best to plan by getting rest stops in advance, so you have time to take care of yourself and your passengers before getting back on the road again. It's also important not to get too tired during the trip itself—don't push yourself too hard!
- Do not drink alcohol while driving or when preparing for your next leg of the journey because it impairs judgment, which could lead to accidents or other problems along the way, like speeding tickets.
