The Volvo XC90 yet again enters the stage this year providing an excellent automobile to the dealerships in Portland, OR. The new XC90 will be a cocktail of safety, performance, and style and is sure to give the competition a run for its money. In terms of safety, you can never go wrong with Volvo. Volvo has built its brand around being the safest automobile on the road. But what about Volvo’s performance, does the XC90’s performance match its safety record? We at Jim Fisher Volvo Cars Portland are convinced that it does, and this is why.

The 2021 Volvo XC90 provides three excellent engine options; you can have the T5, T6, or the Recharge. The T5 is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and is offered as the base engine. It is capable of 250 hp and 258 lb.-ft of torque with FWD as standard.

The other option is the T6 which is the same engine as the T5 but slightly modified with the T6 being turbocharged hence more potent. It generates 316 hp and 295 lb.-ft of torque with an AWD option.

The final engine is the Recharge which is a plug-in hybrid. The T6 engine is combined with an electric motor to create a powerful hybrid system that generates a massive 400 hp and 472 lb.-ft of torque. The Recharge can travel up to 18 miles on electric power with the motor managing 87 hp and 177 lb.-ft of torque. The Recharge has AWD as standard.
