It's a necessary skill as a vehicle owner for you to know how to change a flat tire, so today we're going to be going over how to do this safely.

First, park in a safe place out of grassy areas and off hills. Then, you will turn off the engine, engage the emergency brake, and place a wheel chock or a heavy rock on the opposite side of the one being raised.

Next, engage your caution lights and grab your owner's manual, jack, lug wrench, and other tire tools. Loosen the lug nuts, find the best spot to put the jack, then jack your vehicle up. Fully remove the lug nuts and flat, then replace it with the spare and tighten the lug nuts. Finally, carefully lower your car and you can be on your way.

Above all, stay safe, then follow up with us here at Jim Fisher Volvo Cars Portland in Portland, OR.
